Global Talent, Diversity and Inclusion Symposium
The Global Talent, Diversity and Inclusion Symposium is a two-day conference that looks at unleashing innovation and capturing market opportunities through powering Asian talent, consumers, and investors in the US and Asia marketplace. The Summit features two key components: Asia Society Global Talent, Diversity and Inclusion Symposium and Asia Society Market Place Forum.
The Global Talent, Diversity and Inclusion Symposium, which was established in 2009 as the Diversity Leadership Forum, is an annual event that highlights key thought leadership in the cross-cultural human capital management and diversity realm, awards companies that exemplify strong diversity management practices, and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among Asian professionals and those who work with diverse teams. This event, consisting of interactive workshops, provides a vital platform for businesses to discuss current corporate diversity issues currently facing Asian professionals and global market factors impacting businesses.
In June 2018, the Global Talent, Diversity and Inclusion Symposium was joined for the first time with Asia Society's new Market Place Forum. This segment explores case studies and best practices on how to effectively market to the Asian and Asian-descent demographic in the United States.
The Summit also includes ground-breaking research results from Asia Society’s annual Asian Corporate Survey Report, an annual study that examines barriers to and best practices for career advancement of APAs, keynote and plenary session presentations featuring executives from global Fortune 1000 companies, and small group discussion tracks featuring relevant D&I topics and best practices.
The highlight of the two-day event is the Annual Best Corporate Awards Ceremony, which recognizes companies that are at the forefront in promoting Asian Pacific American leaders and global diversity. Data drawn from that year's Asian Corporate Survey help determine the winners.
Each year, the Summit attracts CEOs, CDOs, COOs, Asian ERG Leadership and Executive Advisors, Business Managers of Fortune 1000 companies and Diversity and Inclusion Managers, Educators and Consultants. Bringing these engaged people together in one room is made possible by dedicated and generous corporate sponsors.
